News release: Hail the Titans to play Atlanta’s Nophest on Aug. 27

August 23, 2011

MONTGOMERY- On Aug. 27 instrumental rock band Hail the Titans will perform at 529 in Atlanta as part of Nophest 2011.

From the pre-festival party on Aug. 24 through Aug. 28, more than 50 bands will take over multiple venues in East Atlanta Village for the 5th annual Nophest. Hail the Titans is the only Alabama-based band on the festival this year.

“I am truly excited to have Hail the Titans at Nophest this year,” said Randy Garcia, founder and organizer of the festival. “They are a tenacious and incendiary bunch, who also happen to be disproportionately nice, given how hard they rock.”

Along with his work with Nophest, Garcia is the drummer for Swank Sinatra, makes music under the moniker R_Garcia and runs Nophi Recording.

The Aug. 27 performance comes one day after the official release of “Hymns of Mare Nostrum,” the debut full-length album by Hail the Titans.

“We are truly grateful to Randy and everyone involved in Nophest for this opportunity,” said Josh Carples of Hail the Titans.

Weekend tickets can be purchased in advance for $15, or a one-day pass can be purchased in advance for $7.50. Tickets will also be available at the door for $10, provided the venue does not sell out. According to the Nophest website, “We are expecting 529 to reach capacity rather quickly, with East Side Lounge not far behind. Please purchase your tickets early to avoid a lock-out.”

Hail the Titans is set to play at 10 p.m., just after Mice in Cars and before the bands Fish Hawk, The Ascent of Everest and Nigredo.
