Greetings!

Some people in our hometown have started a new publication. Its debut issue, which was just released this month, features an article in the print and online editions that has to do with us.

Josh was asked to contribute something tour-related, so what better way to start things off than by asking if it’s shower day?

Also this month, we’ve got some exciting shows. We’re heading back to New Orleans this month to play with the Quintessential Octopus and Autotomii. We’re hitting Atlanta for an all-instrumental night with Cinema Novo and Dead Fiero (which features former members of Capillaries); we’re returning to Carrollton with the Electric Nature and Cult of Riggonia, and we’ve got a hometown show coming up with surf-rock masters Daikaiju.

Some quick band updates: We’ve got some shows coming up this month. We’re hitting two cities for the first time – Destin and Jacksonville, FL – and returning to a couple of Alabama cities – Birmingham and Huntsville.

We’re also planning to make some announcements soon about our next release. It’s in the works, and we’re very excited about it. More details soon.

We’re also going to be part of a big festival coming up in northwest Alabama called Camp Wigout. They’ve made the first of three lineup announcements, and it’s shaping up to be an incredible weekend of music. It’s in August; tickets are on sale now.

100th show poster

Hey everyone,

We hope the new year is treating you well.

As you know, last month we held our 100th show. Thanks to Zach Burnett for designing the poster for it, and thanks to Samantha Lee and Hillary Andrews for helping screen print these things.

At that show, we debuted a new song, and we’re currently working on more new stuff we plan to debut this year, along with a new EP. We’re also currently booking shows, and will begin playing out again in March.

Atlanta Music Guide was all over the Hijacking Music Fest, first with a preview, then a quick Q & A with us and others, and finally a review of each act with photos. They said some really nice things about the festival in general and each of the amazing acts that played. This is their review of us:

“This avant-garde rock band from Alabama presented to Hijacking a controlled exercise in chaos. Alien synth sounds played over distorted math rock compositions as the guitarists played complex melodies, entrancing the audience. Just when you could get a grip on what they were doing, a psychotic breakdown would occur. The drums and guitars furiously thrashed through freakout melodies within intricate time signatures, then they would switch gears when you least expected it. It was an amazing display of unpredictability. No single sequence would linger for long, constantly changing rhythms and song structures. I was very impressed with how the band had configured these lengthy elaborate songs and executed them with such dexterity. Hail the Titans blew peoples’ minds, and have become a welcome addition to Atlanta’s music scene.”

We would also like to thank the GO! Play section of the Montgomery Advertiser for writing about our 100th show and our appearance at Hijacking Music Fest as well.

On Friday, Dec. 7, we will have our 100th show, and it happens to be a hometown show at Head on the Door. We are excited to share this night with some good friends of ours from Atlanta, R*Garcia.

The show starts at 10 p.m. No cover.

The next day, Dec. 8, we’ll be joining a fantastic lineup of amazing bands for the 2012 Hijacking Music Festival. It’s being held at 529 in East Atlanta Village. It begins at 3 p.m., and advance tickets start at $10 – that’s $1 per band, which includes Nigredo, Jungol, Psychedubasaurus REX, Swank Sinatra, The Sneaky Hand, Fine Peduncle, Hanzelle, Cusses and Tricil.

Tomorrow, Halloween 2012, marks the two-year anniversary from our very first performance. That’s right, it’s been a full two years, so, first things first: Thank YOU!

Seriously, thank you! You came out to shows, helped book and promote shows, supported us by purchasing albums and t-shirts and telling your friends about us, and you helped us get a new van for touring. We can’t thank you enough.

With your love and support, we have been able to play 99 shows in 12 states plus the District of Columbia!

So what’s next?

We’re putting the finishing touches on a new EP. We are taking the month of November to write and arrange some new material. And we’re planning to hit the road again next year.

In the meantime, our 100th show is planned for Friday, Dec. 7 at Head on the Door in our hometown of Montgomery. We’ll be playing with our friends in R_Garcia, from Atlanta. The next day, Dec. 8, we’re honored to be part of this year’s Hijacking Music Festival being held at 529 in Atlanta. The lineup is amazing, and we hope to see you at both shows!

In the past few weeks, we have mailed out and personally delivered items from the van fundraiser. Again, thank you so much for helping us get a van and go on tour. We hope you’re pleased with your items, and if you haven’t received something, please contact us and let us know.

This Saturday, we’re excited to join Scaffolds and Hello Cobra at East Side Lounge in Atlanta. The show is being presented by Rock Science. We hope to see you there!

The show Saturday has been canceled, unfortunately. We’ll let you know when it’s rescheduled.

Just wanted to give a quick update on what’s going on with the band.

Since we’ve been back from tour, we’ve played a couple of festivals in Georgia – Best Fest in Carrollton and Nophest in Atlanta. Both went great!

We’re almost completely finished with the items from the IndieGoGo van fundraiser. The plan is to start getting those items to you next week! We decided to do some artistic things that took a little longer than expected, but we hope you like them. Also, we would like to thank Pint Bottle Photography and Ah Ha Designs for helping us get some of this stuff done.

We’re working on some new material and finishing up an EP. We’ll be providing more details on that soon. If you’ve got a preference on what format you prefer, let us know.

Artists: we’ve got some ideas for art, but we’re looking for someone to add their artistic vision to it. If you’re interested, hit us up.

We’re back home from our tour. It was an incredible experience. Thank you all for the support, and thanks to all the new friends and new bands that we got to know.

We met so many great people on the road, who came to the shows, played great music and opened their homes to us, offering us places to sleep, shower and even do laundry. Some even fed us!
